There are few opportunities for those charged with addressing animal issues in disasters to network among colleagues
and participate in continuing education on animal disaster issues. Established in 2007, the TXSART launched the Animals in
Disasters Summit and reached nearly 200 people from local, state, and federal levels. The Summit provides an exceptional service
for the emergency management personnel and the citizens and animals of Texas.

|
Who should attend? Emergency planners, animal health/regulatory
officials, law enforcement, animal care and control personnel, animal humane groups, emergency management coordinators, county
judges, veterinarians, veterinary technicians, local government officials, Cooperative Extension agents, local volunteers,
Animal Issues Committee members, state and federal animal health officials, and industry stakeholders. Others involved with
animal care, damage/impact assessment, and sheltering and evacuation planning are welcome and encouraged to attend.
